Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has revealed he wants Levi Colwill to stay with Brighton beyond his season-long loan spell after an impressive run of performances.

The 19 year old Chelsea defender is on a season-long loan deal at Brighton.

Colwill had to be patient for a first-team chance following his loan move to Brighton last summer but has become an important player for Brighton in recent weeks.

He played eight games in a row in all competitions for Brighton between November and January but he is currently on the sidelines with a quad injury.

De Zerbi told Sussex Live: “I am very happy with Levi’s progress. I hope he can stay with us in the future because he has the potential to become a great player and he is very important for us.”
