Chelsea have reached an agreement with centre-back Thiago Silva over a one-year extension for the Brazilian international, according to 90min.
Silva’s current deal expires at the end of the season and he is ready to put pen to paper on a contract extension as he and his family are enjoying life in the capital.
A new deal will take him beyond his 39th birthday, making him the oldest active current player in the Premier League along the way.
Silva helped Chelsea win the Champions League in 2021 and has racked up over 100 appearances for Chelsea to date.
He continues to prove to the footballing world that he is still a world-class defender despite being just eight months shy of his 39th birthday.
Despite Chelsea spending £100million to sign Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana last summer, Silva has remained a key player for the Blues.
