Lyon manager Laurent Blanc insists he has been given a ‘guarantee’ that Chelsea transfer target Malo Gusto won’t leave Lyon this January.

Lyon have already rejected an offer of around £17.6million from Chelsea for the transfer of Gusto as the Blues seek to sign a right-back this month.

Lyon’s outspoken president Jean-Michel Aulas claimed earlier this week that Gusto would not be sold under any circumstances, but that has not deterred Chelsea who are said to be readying an improved bid.

Blanc, meanwhile, is not expecting any player movement in the final few days of the window, telling a press conference on Friday: “The board have guaranteed to me that Cherki and Gusto will be here until the end of the season.”

Gusto’s current contract expires in 18 months’ time and the Ligue 1 side are conscious that they are running out of time to cash in.
