Chelsea are no longer interested in signing 21 year old Everton winger Anthony Gordon, according to Northern Echo.
The Blues were rumoured to be interested in signing Gordon this January after a deal for the winger failed to materialise last summer but Graham Potter is prioritising midfield targets at present.
As a result, Newcastle United are now leading the race for the attacker’s signature, but Everton are still said to be demanding around £60million, in spite of Gordon’s recent struggles.
Newcastle United are reportedly not willing to pay higher than £40million including add-ons for Gordon.
Gordon, who is under contract at Goodison Park until 2025, was a member of Liverpool’s academy before joining Everton in 2012, and the 21-year-old has seven goals and eight assists to show from 78 senior Toffees appearances.
While Chelsea have dropped interest in signing Gordon, the Blues are interested in signing his Everton teammate Amadou Onana.
