Enzo Fernandez has reportedly told Chelsea he won’t push to leave Benfica this month as Chelsea prepare a new offer for the Argentina star.

According to Portuguese media outlet Record via Metro, while Fernandez had been desperate to join Chelsea earlier this month, he will not try force move to Chelsea and is now happy to remain at Benfica until the end of the season.

Chelsea were unable to agree a deal with Benfica earlier this month with the Portuguese giants reluctant to sell the midfielder for less than his £106million release clause.

Fernandez was keen on joining Chelsea after agreeing personal terms with the Blues. He skipped training earlier this month as he tried to force a transfer.

Chelsea are set to return with a new offer for Fernandez before the January transfer window closes but Benfica remain adamant they will not sell Fernandez for less than his £106million release clause.
