Chelsea in direct talks with club for transfer of player. Personal terms with player has been agreed

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Chelsea are in direct talks with French club Lyon for the transfer of right-back Malo Gusto.

Chelsea are keen on signing a backup to Reece James at right-back following his injury struggles this season.

Romano tweeted: “Chelsea are in direct contact with OL for Malo Gusto. Understand personal terms are already agreed on long term deal, player open to the move.

“OL have turned down Chelsea opening verbal bid, as @sebnonda reported — they want Malo Gusto to stay at least until June.”

Despite Lyon’s unwillingness to sell Gusto this month, Chelsea are confident a deal can reached with Lyon to sign the 19 year old right-back.
