Chelsea are favourites to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol if the Blues pay his €110million release clause, according to Bundesliga expert Christian Falk.
Chelsea tried to sign the 20 year old defender last summer and tried again during the January transfer window but a move has so far failed to materialise.
Tottenham, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United are also all interested in signing Gvardiol.
Falk told GiveMeSport: “I would say Chelsea would be favourites if they pay that amount, and also Tottenham can hope, but it’s really expensive.”
Gvardiol played a key role as Croatia finished third in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Chelsea have already made some big money moves this window, signing Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix, Andrey Santos, David Datro Fofana, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.
