Chelsea are closing in on the signing of 19 year old Lyon right-back Malo Gusto, according to Calcio Mercato via The Hard Tackle.

Gusto will be Chelsea’s seventh signing of the January transfer window when the deal is completed. Chelsea have already signed David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.

Chelsea are keen on signing a right-back this January to provide competition for James and Gusto has reportedly been identified as the right player.

Gusto has 18 months remaining on his Lyon contract. The French side had been keen on keeping the teenager until the end of the season but Chelsea are keen on signing him this January.

Chelsea also approached Denzel Dumfries but still needs to match Inter Milan’s asking price. Sporting Lisbon right-back Pedro Porro was also reportedly considered.
