Barcelona star Franck Kessie has rejected the chance to join Chelsea on loan until the end of the season, according to 90min.
Chelsea are keen on strengthening the central midfield this January and the Barcelona midfielder was identified as an ideal signing for the Blues.
Chelsea enquired about the possibility of prising Kessie away from Camp Nou this January, but the Ivory Coast international midfielder is not interested in a short-term loan deal.
Kessie instead wants to fight for his place under Xavi at Barcelona after only joining the Catalan giants on a four-year deal last summer.
Chelsea have also had an enquiry for Yves Bissouma rejected by Tottenham Hotspur while Brighton have rejected a £55million bid for Moises Caicedo.
