Chelsea have smashed the record for most money spent in the January transfer record by any club in Premier League history.

The Blues are closing in on the £30million capture of PSV Eindhoven star Noni Madueke, which will be the sixth signing this January.

Madueke is set to be the latest in the door this month after Mykhailo Mudryk, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana and Joao Felix.

The signing of Madueke will take Chelsea’s spending in the January window to £190million, which is a Premier League record, according to talkSPORT.

The £100million spent by Newcastle United during the 2022 January transfer window was the previous record.

Chelsea’s £190million January transfer window spending is well over triple the £50million teams in the Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and LaLiga have spent combined.
