Chelsea boss Graham Potter is keen on strengthening Chelsea’s midfield during the January transfer window and the Blues have identified a Barcelona midfielder as a transfer target.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie, who only joined the Spanish club last summer.
Chelsea are hoping to sign the out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder on loan this January after having a £55million bid for Moises Caicedo rejected by Premier League side Brighton.
Chelsea have already had a bid for Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez rejected by Benfica this January while Brighton reportedly want more than £65million for Caicedo.
Kessie, 26, joined Barcelona from Italian club AC Milan last summer but has failed to command a regular place in Xavi’s starting XI.
Kessie has played 17 games for in all competitions for Barcelona to date, scoring once.
