Chelsea’s £55million bid for Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo has been rejected by Chelsea, according to The Athletic.

Chelsea submitted the £55million bid for Caicedo this week but Brighton value the 21-year-old considerably higher and the stance at the Amex Stadium is that he is not for sale.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter is keen on strengthening his midfield options during the January transfer window and Chelsea have identified Caicedo as an ideal signing.

The 21 year old midfielder joined Brighton from Independiente del Valle in February 2021 and is under contract at Brighton until 2025.

Caicedo has made 25 appearances for Brighton since his move.
