Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has downplayed claims this is the best time for Crystal Palace to play against an out of form Chelsea.

Vieira’s Crystal Palace side travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to take on Chelsea.

Chelsea have lost our last three games in all competitions and have just one victory in our last 9 Premier League games.

“It’s not the best time to play Chelsea, and it’s even not going to be the best time to play Manchester United next week,” Vieira said.

“Of course, the game that we played at home and the late goal that we conceded is still in our minds and overall when you look at the game, I think we created enough chances to really hurt them, to score goals.”

Vieira added: “That is what we need to keep in our minds, how can we play a game of football that would put them in trouble and difficulties.

“That is what is important for me, to have a really clear game plan that we can execute as best as we can to try to win the game.”
