Jorginho’s Chelsea contract will expire at the end of the season and the Blues are willing to let the Italian international leave the club at the end of the season.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are plotting to sign a big-money midfielder in January or the summer and have forged a five-man transfer shortlist.

The five midfielders in the Chelsea shortlist are Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez, Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Chelsea are ready to spend big to sign any of the midfielders in the shortlist. Should the players be unavailable in January, Chelsea are willing to wait until the summer to push for their signings.

Brighton are reportedly open to selling Caicedo this month but are keen on keeping Mac Allister until the end of the season.

Rice and Bellingham are unlikely to be available for sale this month while Benfica are only willing to sell Fernandez this month for his €120million release clause.
