Chelsea boss Graham Potter has revealed goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will remain sidelined for our Premier League clash with Manchester City tomorrow.
The goalkeeper sustained a shoulder injury while representing Senegal at the FIFA World Cup.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has played in both games for Chelsea since the post-World Cup restart and will do so again when Manchester City visit Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.
“He’s been training a little bit more than he was,” Potter said.
“He’s not fully fit at the moment but hopefully in the next week or so he might make some progress.”
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has warned Chelsea can put Manchester City under pressure when both sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
“We have to play well ourselves, that is the key,” Potter said.
“Then you have to understand the quality they have and try to stop it. It sounds simple when you condense it down but the reality isn’t so straightforward.
“They are a top team but we can cause them a problem, we can be ourselves and try to play well and put them under pressure. We need to use Stamford Bridge and then see what happens.”
