Chelsea are in talks to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of Arsenal, according to The Sun.
Premier League leaders Arsenal are keen on signing the 21 year old winger and have already agreed personal terms with Mudryk over a five-year deal, worth around £120k-a-week.
Arsenal’s opening bid of £35.5 million, plus a further £17.7m in add-ons, has been rejected by Shakhtar.
Arsenal’s latest offer for the Shakhtar Donetsk star is £62million, but is still well below the Ukrainian side’s asking price.
If the Blues agree to meet Shakhtar’s asking price of around £60million with another £20million in add-ons, the Blues will secure an agreement with the Ukrainian club for the transfer of Mudryk.
Shakhtar sporting director, Darijo Srna, is set to travel to London for talks this week.
Mudryk has 10 goals and eight assists in 18 appearances in all competitions this season for Shakhtar.
