Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Chelsea have sealed the transfer of 21 year old Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
Romano also confirmed the France international has completed the main part of his Chelsea medical in London.
Romano tweeted: “Chelsea and AS Monaco have now all the documents in place for Badiashile deal.
“Main part of medical done. It’s sealed.”
The deal for the 21-year-old centre-back is worth in the region of €37-38million (£32.8m-£33.7m), according to The Athletic.
Chelsea had been keen on signing a left-sided centre-back and switched focus to Badiashile after failing to reach an agreement with RB Leipzig for the transfer of Josko Gvardiol last summer.
Badiashile is a 6ft 4in defender who is good on the ball, incredibly fast and who has impressed in France by regularly stealing the ball off opponents without having to go to ground.
He has made 135 appearances for Monaco in the past four and a half seasons and has been capped twice by France.
