Super-agent Jorge Mendes has offered Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix to Chelsea, according to The Athletic.

Atletico Madrid chief Miguel Angel Gil Martin revealed last month that the Spanish side were open to Felix leaving in January following a breakdown in relationship with Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone.

Mendes has also reportedly offered Felix to Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.

Atletico are believed to be seeking a €21million (£18.6m; $22.5m) package, comprising a €15m loan fee plus €6m gross salary, according to The Athletic.

The report adds that Chelsea are interested in signing Felix on loan in January but the Blues are prepared to pay less than half of the €15million loan fee that Atletico Madrid are demanding.

Chelsea are happy to pay his €6million salary until the end of the season but want to pay a loan fee of less than €7.5million instead of the €15million that Atletico Madrid are demanding.

Liverpool have just signed Cody Gakpo from PSV and are not interested in a move for Felix. Manchester City are also not interested in a move for the Portugal international.

Atletico Madrid paid Benfica €127million in the summer of 2019 to sign Felix. Given the size of his talent and transfer fee, Felix’s return of 34 goals and 18 assists in 130 games is some way below what many expected.
