Chelsea are reportedly looking to refresh their midfield due to the possible departures of Jorginho and N’golo Kante in the summer.

Jorginho and Kante are already in their 30s and their Chelsea contracts are expected to expire at the end of the season.

According to a report from La Repubblica (h/t FCInterNews), Chelsea have identified Inter Milan’s 25-year-old midfielder Nicolo Barella as a possible replacement for Jorginho in Chelsea’s midfield.

The central midfielder is a popular option for Premier League clubs and Chelsea are currently in the front row to sign him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have confirmed the signing of David Datro Fofana from Molde.

A statement from Chelsea reads: “Chelsea FC has reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana.

“The 20-year-old striker will join the Blues on 1 January 2023. We look forward to welcoming David to the club!”
