According to French media outlet L’Equipe, Spanish club Barcelona are urging Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile to snub a January transfer to Chelsea.
The Catalan club are hoping the defender chooses to wait until next summer before making a move to a top European club.
Barcelona are interested in signing the 21 year old defender but won’t be able to make any signings during the January transfer window due to financial issues.
Chelsea are pushing to sign Badiashile in January and have already submitted a bid in the region of £35million for the 21 year old centre-back.
It appears the Blues are no longer interested in signing RB Leipzig defender and Croatian international Josko Gvardiol due to his price tag and are now focusing on signing Badiashile from Monaco.
The report on L’Equipe claim Chelsea will face competition from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United if the club don’t get the deal done for Badiashile in January.
Good move. Congratulations to the board.
