
Chelsea have joined the race to sign Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix after being offered the 23-year-old by his representatives, according to The Telegraph.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly given the greenlight for the Blues to make a move for the Portugal international.
The Portugal international impressed in bursts during the World Cup – scoring once and assisting twice – but will be allowed to leave Atleti on loan in the January window.
Felix left Benfica for Atletico Madrid in 2019 for €126million but has struggled to adapt to Diego Simeone’s brand of defensive football.
Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are also reportedly considering making a bid for Felix in January.
Chelsea are eyeing an initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season, with manager Graham Potter keen to have more firepower at his disposal.
