Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who reportedly earns around £100,000-a-week, has rejected a new contract offer from Chelsea.
Mendy reportedly wants his salary doubled as fellow Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga earns almost twice his current salary.
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has suggested he is keen on keeping Senegal keeper Edouard Mendy at the club but refused to dig deep into Mendy’s contract situation with the club.
“It’s not my place to speak publicly about players’ contract situations, that’s between them and the club,” Potter told the media.
“Mendy has been absolutely top with the club and with me, he’s a great guy, happy around the place.”
Mendy was the undisputed no.1 goalkeeper at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel but Graham Potter has preferred Kepa Arrizabalaga to the Senegalese international.
