Ivory Coast striker David Datro Fofana has completed his Chelsea medical ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge in January, according to Standard Sport.

The 20 year old striker completed his Chelsea medical on Thursday and will make the move to Chelsea in January after an £8.6million fee was agreed with Norwegian club Molde.

Chelsea’s renewed focus on youth under new owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali has already seen Carney Chukwuemeka arrive from Aston Villa and Cesare Casadei recruited from Inter Milan.

Promising goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina has come on board from Chicago Fire, with forward Omari Hutchinson lured from Arsenal too.

Fofana has netted 19 goals in 34 appearances for Molde in 2022, and will now be itching to make his mark in west London.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have made it official that the Blues are interested in signing 23 year old Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi ahead of the winter window, according to Simon Phillips.

The 23 year old midfielder is also attracting interest from Spanish side Barcelona. Premier League rivals Manchester United are also interested in signing the Real Sociedad midfielder.

Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “I was given the name Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, a Spain international. Chelsea have registered their official interest in him with his agent, so they have started that.

“Barcelona are another club that are interested in signing him. Apparently, Xavi really likes him.”
