Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill has been hailed for his confident performance for Brighton in their Carabao Cup game against Charlton Athletic.

Colwill started just his fourth game for the Seagulls since joining the Premier League side on loan from Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Charlton’s inability to find a way past Robert De Zerbi’s defence was largely owed to the performance of the 19 year old Chelsea loanee.

Colwill lined-up alongside Lewis Dunk in a back-four, and between them managed to limit the Addicks to only a handful of chances.

Reacting to Colwill’s performance against Charlton Athletic, Sussex Live wrote: “Came up against the 6ft 5in striker Miles Leaburn and kept him quiet for large parts of the game, including outjumping him on a few occasions.

“Was in the right place at the right time on numerous occasions. Adam Webster’s spot at the back may be under threat.”

“Denied on the hour with a header and a confident display next to the skipper,” added the Sussex Express.
