Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ready to sanction a move for Portugal international and Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix in order to make a significant statement.
Felix has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all seemingly interested.
French club Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing Felix but will struggle to comvince the Portugal international as they already have Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in their attack.
ESPN pundit Steve Nicol believes that Boehly could swoop in to sign Felix in order to make a significant statement.
“You get the feeling that Boehly still wants people to know his name. I get the feeling he’ll turn around and sign a big name. Maybe Joao Felix,” Nicol told ESPN.
“I’m thinking a Joao Felix somebody like that, which actually would make some sense.
“I just get the feeling he still wants that spotlight by signing somebody for a lot of money.”
