Chelsea star Wesley Fofana has played down the severity of his latest injury as the Blues prepare for the resumption of the Premier League.

Fofana has been out injured since suffering a knee injury against AC Milan in the Champions League in October.

The 22 year old centre-back made his injury comeback in the 5-1 friendly victory over Brentford on Tuesday but was forced off with another knee injury.

However, in response to the news of his latest setback on an Instagram fan page, Fofana wrote: “Nothing bad champion in not even one month we’re back to break everything.”

Kai Havertz scored a hat-trick in the victory over Brentford, while Reece James, who missed England’s World Cup campaign with a knee injury, was able to complete 60 minutes.

Chelsea resume their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on December 27.

Chelsea will then play Nottingham Forest on New Year’s Day before hosting Manchester City on January 5.
