Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is now eager to remain at Chelsea, having previously considered leaving the club, according to Ben Jacobs.

Jorginho’s Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season and the midfielder is hoping to sign a new Chelsea contract.

Speaking on the ChelseaFC365 podcast, Jacobs said: “With Jorginho, it’s a more formative process. The contract talks haven’t really begun in any significant or formal way. I fully expect Chelsea to offer a competitive new deal, it’s just not certain whether he’ll sign one.

“The good news is that Jorginho now, compared to the Jorginho at the beginning of the window, has a different mindset.

“He feels still integral and wanted and he likes the man management of Potter and he believes Chelsea are going to take great strides forward.

“So, he can see the project more than most, and he believes that the club see him as part of it.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea will hold contract talks with Jorginho before Christmas as the Blues look to tie him down to a new contract, according to CaughtOffside.

The report adds a meeting has been scheduled between Chelsea and the representatives of Jorginho.
