Liverpool have reportedly reached a pre-contract agreement with Argentina international Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea are also interested in signing the 21 year old Benfica midfielder who has helped Argentina reach the 2022 World Cup final.
According to Portuguese outlet Record and Spanish outlet Diario AS, Fernandez has reached a pre-agreement with Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead of a possible move to Anfield.
Fernandez, who has been described as “spectacular” by his international Lionel Messi, is believed to have a release clause of €120 million (£103 million) in his Benfica contract.
Fernandez has scored three goals in 24 appearances for Benfica since joining the Portuguese club from Argentine side River Plate in June.
He has made six appearances for Argentina at the World Cup (four starts and two substitute appearances), registering one goal and an assist at the World Cup.
