Portugal World Cup star Rafael Leao is reportedly unwilling to extend his AC Milan contract amid interest from Chelsea.

Leao has just 18 months left on his AC Milan contract which is worth £28,000 weekly.

According to The Sun, Leao wants around £115,000-a-week but AC Milan are yet to meet his demands.

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is believed to be in negotiations with Leao and his representatives, and club president Paolo Scaroni is confident a deal will be struck.

Chelsea reportedly had a £70million bid for Leao rejected in the summer and are preparing to return with another bid in January or next summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have received a huge boost in the pursuit of AC Milan star Rafael Leao as it has now been revealed the head of the Portugal international has been turned by Chelsea’s interest.

Simon Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s been quite keen to hold off signing a new contract with the interest from other clubs, especially Chelsea because his head has been turned by that.

“He’s not wanted to rush anything with his contract talks.”
