Premier League rivals Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic in January, according to The Sun.
Pulisic is one of three targets Eddie Howe’s side are considering to strengthen their Champions League ambitions.
Chelsea are reportedly open to selling Pulisic and value the USA international at around £40m but Newcastle are hoping to get the fee reduced.
Newcastle United face a battle with Man United and league leaders Arsenal but the pair would reportedly prefer a loan.
But Chelsea are unwilling to sanction a loan move for Pulisic and will reportedly prefer a permanent transfer for the USA international.
Pulisic has only started three Premier League games for Chelsea this season and USA international goalkeeper Brad Friedel has urged the winger to leave Chelsea.
“If Chelsea aren’t picking Christian Pulisic, then I think he should move elsewhere because he’s good enough to play somewhere,” Friedel told Online Casino.
“Christian Pulisic is staking a claim towards being the best US player of all time, although he’s got a way to go to get past Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey,” Friedel added.
