Chelsea boss Graham Potter raved about youngster Omari Hutchinson following Chelsea’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.
Hutchinson, 19, moved to Chelsea in the summer from Arsenal.
He has registered five goals and four assists across 11 Premier League 2 games, while in the EFL Trophy, Hutchinson has scored once and assisted twice across four matches.
Speaking after Chelsea’s friendly defeat to Aston Villa, Potter said: “[He was] really good, really good.
“[He was] dangerous, asked the questions all the time, I think he hit the bar in the first half, but throughout the game he showed his quality.
“He wasn’t the only one, it was a spirited performance against an experienced Premier League side so it was good.”
Quizzed more generally about his squad, Potter added: “We have a few more guys coming back from the World Cup.
“It is moving nicely, this week we will be able to have a few more players back in full training with us, Reece [James] has moved forward, Wesley [Fofana] has moved forward, Carney Chukwuemeka is moving forward.
“So that’s positive. Then hopefully Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] and Ben Chilwell can also take a step forward next week. We are optimistic about that.”
