Former Morroco midfielder Mustafa ElHaddaoui has urged compatriot Hakim Ziyech to leave Chelsea for Manchester United in January.
Ziyech has largely underwhelmed at Stamford Bridge since his £33m move from Ajax in the summer of 2020.
The 29-year-old has scored 14 goals in 92 appearances for Chelsea and only started one Premier League game this term before the mid-season break for the World Cup.
Despite his struggles at Chelsea, Ziyech has been one of the stars of the World Cup after helping Morocco reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup, beating favourites Spain and Belgium along the way.
Given his lack of game-time at Chelsea, Ziyech is expected to leave Chelsea in January and has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A club AC Milan.
However, El Haddaoui believes Ziyech should instead look to join Manchester United and reunite with his former Ajax boss Ten Hag.
El Haddaoui told Stats Perform and Corriere dello Sport: “Now we’re seeing Hakim’s potential, we can see what he’s capable of. He has a lot of offer.
“He needs to leave Chelsea and go to Manchester United, because the former Ajax manager [Erik ten Hag] wanted him. He will bounce back, but he needs to leave Chelsea during the winter transfer market.”
