Chelsea star Raheem Sterling missed England’s last-16 win over Senegal after armed burglars broke into his home while his partner and young children were there, according to reports.
The 27-year-old has rushed home from Qatar to check on the wellbeing of his family after being left ‘shaken’ by the raid.
Matt Law wrote: “Raheem Sterling was the victim of a robbery at his home in London while in Qatar. He has decided to return to UK to check on the well being of his family but hopes to return to Qatar if the circumstances are right.
“Robbery took place on Saturday night – the night before England’s game.
“Sterling fully committed to England’s World Cup bid and will return to Qatar as long as he can.”
