Chelsea centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly scored the winner as Senegal beat Ecuador 2-1 to progress into the World Cup lasting 16.

Ismalia Sarr gave Senegal the lead but Moises Caicedo equalised in the second half only for Koulibaly to strike moments later.

Senegal’s progression also sees Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy advance into the last-16 with Koulibaly.

Senegal finish second in Group A behind Netherlands and could meet England in the World Cup last 16 if Gareth Southgate’s men finish as group winners.
