Why Man United boss is keen on signing Chelsea star Christian Pulisic in January

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is keen on signing Chelsea star Christian Pulisic in January due to the forward’s tactical flexibility, according to ESPN via Metro.

The USA international is keen on leaving Chelsea in January due to lack of gametime under Thomas Tuchel and his replacement Graham Potter this season.

Manchester United made an attempt to sign Pulisic last summer before signing Antony from Ajax.

Ten Hag is keen on signing a forward in January following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from the club last week. Though Pulisic is more of a traditional winger, he can play on both flanks and in a central position.

Pulisic’s tactical flexibility has attracted Ten Hag to the Chelsea star’s availability and United are preparing to make a loan move for him in January.

Manchester United are happy to cover Pulisic’s £130,000-a-week salary but Chelsea are reportedly unwilling to loan the American and instead want a permanent transfer.
