According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Chelsea and Manchester United will battle for the transfer of 22 year old Lille striker Jonathan David.

David featured in Canada’s 1-0 World Cup defeat to Belgium and should start again in Canada’s second World Cup game against Croatia.

In the previous campaign, David featured 48 times for Lille in all competitions and scored 19 goals. And the Canadian has continued his fine form this season, finding the back of the net nine times and providing three assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances.
