Jason Cundy has claimed that he would rather have Chelsea’s Mason Mount in his team than Brazilian forward Neymar.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jamie O’Hara posed the question: “Who would you take out of the Brazil side to put into the England’s starting eleven?”

O’Hara actually began by saying that, for him, Neymar gets in at the expense of Mason Mount.

But Cundy was having none of it: “I’ll tell you why Neymar gets nowhere near any team that I want to support is because it’s him,” Cundy declared. “He’s not a team player.”

“What, so you’re telling me that you would take Mount over Neymar?” O’Hara fired back.

Cundy answered: “Yes! 100%, and I’ll tell you why, because Neymar won’t do what Mount does.

“He won’t do the dirty work. If you’re not a team player, you can’t get in the team.

“Can you imagine if Neymar was English in that Southgate squad? Imagine the disruption, what it would do, the effect it would have.

“He’s not part of the gang. Look at what he did, he left Barca because he couldn’t compete with Messi.

“He turns up at PSG and Mbappe turns up. He’s not even the best player at PSG!

“It’s all about him and it’s more than just the player.”
