Chelsea are close to appointing Christopher Vivell as the club’s technical director ahead of the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.

According to Plettenberg, the deal is now nearing completion as Chelsea owner Todd Boehly gets the former RB Leipzig director.

Vivell’s role at Chelsea will be similar to the one he had at RB Leipzig. He will be in charge of handling transfers and planning the squad and more at Chelsea.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed it’s just a matter of time before the Blues announce Vivell as technical director.
