Chelsea boss Graham Potter is unconvinced by Chelsea goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy after giving both goalkeepers a chance since replacing Thomas Tuchel in September.
According to The Sun, Chelsea will scout England international and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford at the World Cup as Potter looks for a new keeper.
Brighton’s Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is Potter’s first choice but Brighton will want a huge fee.
Chelsea believe signing Pickford will be affordable as it is believed Everton could sell the 28 year old goalkeeper to balance their books and lose a big wage.
Pickford is happy at Everton but a pay rise and the chance to play at the top end of the Premier League and in Europe would appeal to the England goalkeeper.
Chelsea scouts will watch Pickford at the World Cup and see how he copes with the pressure in Qatar.
Pickford is set to start England’s World Cup opener against Iran on Monday.
