Chelsea legend Claude Makelele has hailed Real Madrid midfielder and France international Aurelien Tchouameni as a complete player.

Tchouameni was a transfer target for Chelsea before he made the move to Real Madrid from Monaco in the summer for €100million.

The 22 year old midfielder ranked first for interceptions made (101) and fourth for tackles completed (86) in Ligue 1 last season whilst still at Monaco.

Since joining Real Madrid, he is in the top ten for interceptions (21) and has only been dribbled past on six occasions in 12 La Liga appearances.

“He (Tchouameni) is a very good player. He has that double quality, being good in the midfield and knowing how to attack. He is complete,” Makelele told Spanish media outlet AS.

“Now, to be at the level of Madrid you have to have personality in the way that (Luka) Modric does. He has time, and he must learn from those close to him.”
