Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is favourite to become new Atletico Madrid boss with Diego Simeone under pressure, according to reports from Spain.
Reports in Spain claim Atletico Madrid are set to sack Simeone after Atletico Madrid’s humiliating exit from the Champions League in the group stage. Atletico Madrid also trail La Liga leaders Barcelona by 13 points already.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tuchel is favourite to take over should Simeone leave.
Simeone is the highest-paid manager in the world and has been in charge at Atletico since 2011. He has won both LaLiga and the Europa League twice.
Tuchel has been a free agent since being unceremoniously sacked by Chelsea in September.
