Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta was taken off at half-time in the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday and Chelsea boss Graham Potter has confirmed it was due to injury.

Asked for an update on Azpilicueta’s injury after the game against Newcastle United, Potter said: “He was feeling his calf.

“I’m not sure where it leaves him with Spain. I don’t think it was too bad but nevertheless not well enough to carry on.”
