Chelsea boss Graham Potter has hailed Chelsea as a fantastic club but insists the Blues are not ready to challenge for trophies.
“One of the reasons to come here, one of many, was that it’s a fantastic football club, potentially one of the best in the world, and that can compete for any major trophy,” Potter told a press conference.
”But I think we all know that we’re not at that point now, and we haven’t been for two or three or four years. That is the reality when you look at the league table and the points difference between the top two and Chelsea.
“So okay, how do you get there? That’s hard work, and that’s pain, and that’s suffering, and that is moving forward, and that’s learning, and that’s developing, and that’s just driving it forward – And that’s absolutely why we’re here.”
Graham Potter needs time
After this confession am quite certain that Todd Boehly and partners now need no prophet to know that Graham Potter has nothing to offer Chelsea.
It was the same confession Frank Lampard made after losing 2 – 0 to Leicester, the Duke of World Club Football Sir Roman Abrahamovic sacked him, brought Thomas Tuchel who used the same team unchanged and won UEFA Champions League, Super Cup & Club World Cup.
The problem with English Managers is that they think that their limitations affects others, not knowing that something tangible could be made out of their limitations once a better manager is installed.
Chelsea have the quality to challenge for trophies if they engage a better Manager and not Graham Potter who has no idea of what to do with the super stars at Chelsea.
