Raheem Sterling has revealed he was eager to join Chelsea in the summer so he could play alongside Mateo Kovacic.
When questioned on who he was most looking forward to playing with, the England star singled out two particular players.
“Kovacic to be fair (is who I was most looking forward to linking up with at the club),” Sterling told BT Sport. “When we used to play him for City I used to think ‘Oh my good gosh’ – I’m not going to lie.
“Of course I always used to love to play with Mason (Mount) for England as well.
“Because he’s just just a little busy one. He’s just always getting on the ball. But yeah them two.
“Kova(cic) for sure because there was a couple of times (when I was at City) when he was doing some serious stuff against us.”
