According to Italian outlet Calciomercato via Goal, Chelsea are ready to terminate Denis Zakaria’s loan deal in the upcoming January transfer window despite his impressive debut against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.
Zakaria, 25, scored on his Chelsea debut in the 2-1 Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb before hobbling off the field injured.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter reportedly doesn’t see the Swiss midfielder as an important part of his future plans, and the Blues have no plans to trigger the permanent option clause worth €28 million.
Zakaria joined Chelsea on loan in the summer with an option to buy from Italian side Juventus but only made his debut for the club against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.
