Dinamo Zagreb boss Ante Čačić was surprised Chelsea took the game against Dinamo Zagreb very seriously despite already qualifying as group leaders.
Dinamo Zagreb needed a win over Chelsea with AC Milan beating RB Salzburg for the Croatian side to finish third and qualify for the Europa League.
While AC Milan were able to beat RB Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb suffered a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking after the game, Dinamo Zagreb boss said: “Chelsea took this match very seriously, although they already qualified from the group. We had some good moments that I can praise, but at the end the result went the wrong way.
“I am very satisfied with how everything worked. We had ambitions to make more, but after our goal, we conceded two quick goals and Chelsea won. I congratulate them for that.
“It wasn’t easy, it was very demanding group. We could have achieved more than this, but my impression is that we often needed just a little to make it better.”
