Spanish club Barcelona are in talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, according to Spanish outlet Sport via SportWitness.
Jorginho is in the final months of his Chelsea contract and will be able to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from January.
Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez is reportedly a huge admirer of the Chelsea midfielder and believes he meets a series of basic requirements to sign.
Xavi reportedly sees Jorginho as potentially occupying a ‘fundamental position’ in his plans, which is why Barcelona have ‘already taken the appropriates steps’ regarding a potential contract in Spain, all the while ‘waiting to finalise the agreement’.
Since joining Chelsea from Napoli, Jorginho, 30, has made 204 appearances, scored 29 goals and assisted another nine for the Stamford Bridge side in all competitions.
