Former Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling decided to leave the Etihad Stadium, following Man City’s signing of Erling Haaland.
At the end, Jesus joined Arsenal while Chelsea signed up Sterling.
Both players were linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal, and Gunners legend Ian Wright has revealed that he was keen for Sterling to join Arsenal.
“I have got to ask you, with Arsenal coming up at the weekend, I was praying that there is truth in the talk about you coming,” Wright told Sterling on Premier League Productions.
“But it didn’t happen – I got so psyched up about thinking of you in the red kit.”
Sterling joined Chelsea for £50m, and started his career at Stamford Bridge brightly. However, the Englishman has struggled since the start of September.
