It’s job done for Chelsea and Graham Potter in the Champions League group stage.
Despite having started with a defeat away to Dinamo Zagreb, Chelsea were stuck to the bottom spot after a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg in the first meeting at Stamford Bridge.
However, three straight wins on the row has seen Chelsea climb up to the top of the group, and the Blues have now secured qualification to the next round and also as group leaders, despite having a game in hand.
Chelsea would next play Dinamo Zagreb at Stamford Bridge next week Wednesday, and Blues boss Graham Potter will have the perfect opportunity to rotate his side and give minutes to fringe players like Denis Zakaria, Hakim Ziyech and even Edouard Mendy who’s yet to play under the new manager.
As per being top of the group, Chelsea have gotten 10 points which can only be matched by AC Milan, but Chelsea have a better head to head record on the Italian champions, after beating them home and away.
It’s indeed a good situation for Chelsea; top of the group and through to the next round.
Congrats Blues!
