Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea, but talks seems to have stalled over a new deal.
Kante and Chelsea seemed far from reaching an agreement over a new deal, and it now seems farther than before, with Kante recently undergoing a surgery that would keep him out for four months.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has said the focus is to get Kante back from injury before contract talks would resume.
Potter said: “The most important thing for us and for me is that we help him get fit. That’s the focus.
“He’s got a long road ahead of him so we have to make sure that we get him the right treatment, we help him get back fit and strong, and once he’s enjoying his football we can think about those things then.”
